Our Ipe 2x8 is a full-dimension board cut from FSC-certified Brazilian Ipe, the densest tropical hardwood we mill. Kiln-dried for stability, it offers the strength and minimal movement that make Ipe ideal where ordinary lumber falls short. At 2 inches thick and 8 inches wide, it's well suited to stair stringers, framing members, joists, bench tops, planters and fascia. Left untreated it weathers to a silver patina; oiled, it holds Ipe's rich espresso tone for years.
